Throwback: 1 thing I did in Korea
I haven't been doing much lately and I find that so unproductive. So I happened to find the folder that I contained all my Korea trip tickets and stubs of entrance tickets.
This one above is a ticket stub for a play, 연극짝사랑, and it's in Korean, needless to say, I went to watch it alone, Initially, I wanted to watch another popular show that had a long queue, but I didn't have a lot of time since it was the last day of my trip before we fly back to Singapore. So, I walked around in search for a good show, and saw this small counter at a corner. There was no queue for this show, but I bought it anyway because the title sounded interesting to me. It was fortunate that I managed to buy tickets for the last show as people actually buy on advance for Saturday tickets. It cost about 30,000 won for adults but half the price for university students, and of course I told the person I was a university student to save the 15,000 won.
An unexpected crowd showed up at the entrance of the small theater at the basement of the counter, and it was actually fully booked and popular despite having ran for about 6 months. With my limited ability in the language, the show was surprisingly enjoyable. The experience is one-of-a-kind. There were several short stories in this play and each of the actors and actresses had more than 2 roles. Interactive humor is not something you can get from watching a movie, and that's what I like about the play as well. More importantly, there was a common moral to each of the story for this play. Love is such a strange, but beautiful thing that expresses itself in different forms.
I daresay this bucket list of mine is not on many tourists' to-do list in their Korea trip. I can't wait to watch another 연극 the next time I go to Korea.
